Relay for Life 2012

Had fun getting crafty for this years Relay for Life.
I made hope pillows for the silent auction.

It was a 50s theme so we made an diner and had root beer floats as a fund raiser.  I didn't get any pictures of the dinner but we made a record curtain for one side of it.

We also dressed up in poodle skirts. I made the kiddo one

I borrowed mine but we look good and had lots of fun
notice the records behind us, that is how we covered one wall of our diner.

Pj pants and an oven mitt

Made some fun birthday gifts for my family this year.
Fussy pj pants
They picked out the fabric and asked for pj pants with pockets for their birthday. They are so bright and colorful.

Oven mitts
Made chili pepper oven mitts to match a kitchen covered with chilies. I traced an oven mitt that I had to make the pattern for this one.  Forgot to switch the needle to a quilting needle on my sewing machine so I broke a needle, lesson learned all ways check your needle.

Easter egg fun

I made some crochet Easter Eggs so they could be played with and hid over and over again

I personally like the rainbow one the best but the white one was fun to pretend it was a real egg and little one almost got us to die it and it was her favorite.

You can find the pattern I used to make them here

More Christmas Fun

Made some Christmas ornaments kept some and gave other as gifts.
I got a big box of the snowflakes then some Christmas/winter fabric and made Yo-Yos out of them. Next I hand stitched the snowflakes onto the Yo-Yos and added a ribbon to hang them on the tree

Big blanket

My husband is over 6 feet and has all ways said he wished he had a longer blanket so I made a huge blanket.
Had to push the furniture against the walls to fit the blanket on the floor to tie it.
Helping Daddy open his gift

It was hard to get a picture the shows just how big it is, but trust me it is huge.

Christmas bags

I decided to make bags for most of the women in the family for Christmas most of them were the same pattern and fun to make. I changed the pattern a little bit, I am not a fan of zippers on my purses so I left them off.

I have to say this fabric was my favorite, and I loved the way the orange button over the magnetic closure blends right in.

Added an eyelet to this bag to make it fun.

3 of the same different at the same time

Made a bigger one same pattern but bigger with 2 different fabrics and ...

an awesome inside.

Reversible bag. I made this pattern on the go wish I would have documented the steps

a second one, I love how bright this one is. I think I had a thing for orange this year.

This one I made for my Grandma.
(Side note I really need to get better at pictures)

I love the tradition of making home made Christmas gifts and with a big family making something similar for everyone makes it easier to keep track of what we gave everyone.

Birthday ABC's

Did an ABC Birthday celebration.  Made awesome ABC invitations but forgot to take a picture :(
It was full of letters and balloons. We put them all over the walls

We had the kids color their own ABC book. Each page had a letter and an animal whose name stated with that letter

All the food had a letter or two with it the cupcakes got letter C and each cupcake had a letter and we tried to give each kid the letter that their name started with.

It was fun and simple but perfect for little ones with little attention spans.
